Tony Dent is chairman of CMR Group and past Chairman of both Sample Answers Ltd and the Alliance of International Market Research Institutes. The latter has now been submerged within the Insights Association.
He is a statistician with over 40 years of International Market Research experience and has acted as a consultant to a number of companies, including the Civil Aviation Authority, DHL, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Radio Free Europe, and the Xerox Corporation. Tony holds a BSc and MSc in Mathematics and Statistics from Reading and Southampton.
Phyllis Macfarlane is a life-long Market Researcher – starting her career as Assistant Statistician, and culminating as MD of GfK NOP, one of the UK’s largest MR Companies. She has only recently stepped down as the Chairman of the UK Market Research Society.
The twin underlying themes of her career have been people development – good people being essential to grow a MR business – and creatively adapting existing techniques to new situations – including the early development of B2B Research and International Research. Phyllis has a BSc Hons in Mathematics from University College, London.
Iain Mackay holds a MA in Computer Science from Cambridge and has championed innovation in software technology for market(ing) research since the 1980s. Currently involved as a principal with X-MR Limited and Computable Functions Limited, Iain had over twenty years exposure to technology infrastructure in support of market research and business sector quantitative and qualitative endeavours with organisations such as Neilsen Audio and Pulse Train Technology.
